July 2006 saw the delivery of a new RIB for Surrey Aquanauts. The boat is a 5.3m Ribcraft hull with a 90HP Suzuki engine and it’s fitted out with all the navigational and safety equipment that a modern boat needs. Part funded by a grant from the Awards for All England Joint Pot lottery program, the boat extends the club's training and diving facilities to include boat handling and seamanship skills.
Diving and
training activities are focused around the summer months at locations on
the south coast such as the Isle of Wight, Lymington and Kimmeridge.
The 2008
diving season will see the boat kept at a marina in the Portsmouth area.
So with quick access to numerous dive sites, club members will be
able to dive whenever the
weather permits - maximising the use of the boat.
